Muratbey's Innovative Cheeses Reach Tables Across Four Continents, Aiming to Bring Turkish Cheeses to the World's Farthest Corners

Muratbey, which continuously adds new innovative initiatives every year, stands out with its cheeses that are making a difference both in Turkiye and globally, thanks to its R&D center in Uşak and investments in innovation. Declaring 2018 as the year of export, the company has focused heavily on international operations since then and today exports its cheeses to four continents, from the USA and European Union countries to the Middle East and South Korea.

Muratbey is focused on responding to changing needs with products that align with the global healthy living concept, as innovative products are increasingly preferred worldwide.

"We produced vitamin fortified with Vitamin D cheese to combat vitamin D deficiency"

Muratbey Chairman Necmi Erol said that in 2019, to address the global issue of vitamin D deficiency, which reached risk levels worldwide, the company introduced a series of cheeses enriched with vitamin D. “Recent studies show that vitamin D deficiency is increasing worldwide, including in Middle Eastern countries where the sun is abundant. Based on the necessity of vitamin D for calcium absorption in the body, we launched the Muratbey Plus-D vitamin-enriched series and Misto cheese for children, which were well received by cheese lovers. Just like in 2019, we will participate in prestigious global fairs in 2020 to allow more people to taste our innovative cheeses. Another innovation this year is the Misto Game mobile application, developed in collaboration with Yıldız Technical University Technopark to support children's cognitive development. This application has changed the perception of parents who were concerned about mobile games and has been greatly appreciated. We will continue our work in this area," he added.

Erol continued, stating that the global trend of healthy living and nutrition is rising: “As Muratbey, we noticed this change and momentum in the 80s, which led us to focus on innovation, using technology as the driving force behind our investments. Since we design our own machines, we have become a pioneering role model in many ways for our sector. We see innovation as an indispensable part of our business. Therefore, we are differentiating ourselves in both our domestic and international markets with the innovative products we have developed so far, and as Turkiye's national brand, we proudly represent our country successfully in global markets. Our biggest goal is to bring Turkish cheeses to even the furthest corners of the world."

Burgu Cheese Now Sold Worldwide

Necmi Erol also mentioned that Muratbey’s innovative product, Burgu, is now sold under the name Helix Cheese in Kaufland, one of the world’s top five retail chains in Germany. “Muratbey was one of the first brands to receive export permission for European Union countries, and since 2018, it has been successfully exporting cheese from Turkiye to EU countries. We are a pioneering brand in cheese exports to the EU,” he said.

Muratbey Awarded the Excellence Medal

Having strengthened its international success by winning the “Best Cheese” award at the 2018 World Dairy Innovation Awards, Muratbey received another significant honor in 2019. Muratbey was awarded the “Customers’ Friend” medal by the Swiss-based ICERTIAS for the strong connection it has built with customers and consumers worldwide. Furthermore, Muratbey was granted the "Excellence" status, cementing its position as a global brand. With these prestigious awards, the company is preparing to continue introducing innovations to the sector in 2020.
