KASHKAVAL CHEESE-STUFFED RICE MEATBALLS

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups of (grated) Muratbey fresh kashkaval cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup of rice
  • 1 teacup of plain sparkling water
  • 2 cups of water
  • 3 full tablespoon of bread crumbs
  • 1/4 bunch of fresh dill
  • Salt, powdered black pepper
  • Vegetable oil for deep-frying
  • 1.5 cups of bread crumbs for coating meatballs

PREPARATION

Wash the rice with plenty of water, then drain. Return the drained rice to a medium saucepan and add 2 cups of boiled water. Add one teaspoon of salt and stir until the excess water evaporates. Then, cover and let it rest. Add the cooled rice grains into a large mixing bowl. Place the eggs, bread crumbs, plain sparkling water, and Muratbey Fresh Kashkaval Cheese into the bowl and mix. Add the spices and chopped fresh dill and blend the ingredients together. Add vegetable oil to a frying pan or a non-stick pot and let it heat up. Meanwhile, take a spoonful of the prepared mixture and use your hands to shape the meatballs into rounds, then roll them in breadcrumbs. Deep fry both sides over high heat. Remove the fried balls to drain on a paper towel-lined plate. Enjoy your meal!
